These initiatives allow individuals with a disability to gain firsthand knowledge about different job roles and workplace environments with the end goal for the person to find employment in the community.
How You Can Help:
- Work Experience: Offer a short-term work experience opportunity, allowing someone with a disability the opportunity to observe and participate in the everyday activities of a workplace
- Informational Interviews: Meeting with a person with a disability so they can learn and gain insights about your real-life career and industry experiences. From here, the person can find out if the work actually aligns with their values, skills and interests.
