Intelife Honoured for Outstanding Contribution to UWA Internship Program

News / 23 October 2025

Intelife is proud to announce that we have been recognised by the McCusker Centre for Citizenship for our significant contribution to its award-winning internship program for University of Western Australia (UWA) students.

The recognition was presented at the McCusker Centre’s 2025 event, which celebrated students, graduates, and partner organisations who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to active citizenship. This year, the program received a record 142 nominations from internship supervisors, highlighting the growing impact of these partnerships across Western Australia.

Intelife’s collaboration with UWA interns has focused on innovative projects that empower people with disabilities and promote social inclusion. Through initiatives such as the Easy Read Document Generator, developed with the help of talented IT students, we are breaking down barriers to accessibility and creating tools that make complex information easier to understand for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Brendan Spencer, Intelife’s General Manager of Technology and Digital Innovation, said the recognition reflects the organisation’s commitment to leveraging technology for social good.
“We’ve seen firsthand how these internships bring fresh ideas and technical expertise to projects that have real-world impact. Together, we’re creating solutions that improve accessibility and independence for people with disabilities,” he said.

Intelife extends its gratitude to the McCusker Centre for Citizenship and UWA for fostering this partnership and to the interns whose creativity and dedication have helped drive meaningful change.
