Enabling Sophie’s independence has increased her confidence in a social environment and opened opportunities for work experience.
The greatest reward is seeing our participants empowered with the confidence to explore their abilities and realise their full potential. We know they can do incredible things and it is a privilege to witness the positive impact on the lives of these courageous, determined individuals when they move towards finding employment and becoming more independent.

Josh joined Intelife in the Lifeskills department with a number of specific personal goals, including achieving full independence to catch the train to TAFE on his own. He is now proud to manage his own schedule, and is confident in reading timetables, using his smart rider and communicating with Transperth staff. Intelife are incredibly proud of the progress Josh has made and always enjoy his wonderful sense of humour.
Paris is good at crocheting, very good, so good in fact a delightful handcrafted doll she created took first place at the Perth Royal Show. Putting her incredible skills to great use, Paris now sells the original designs at a local arts and crafts store where she volunteers. An Intelife skills trainer has also helped our budding entrepreneur learn how to safely use social media, so Paris can post items for sale and take orders for her expanding business.
Sophie is passionate about helping others. A recent year 12 graduate and NDIS participant, through Discovery and our Customised Employment program this enthusiastic 18-year-old was given an opportunity to do work experience with Intelife. A mountain of positive feedback has now inspired Sophie to keep following her dream of exploring future studies in the disability sector and finding paid employment with Intelife.
When Phillip joined Intelife in 2017 all he wanted was a chance to do something based around his interests, abilities and hobbies. Support from Intelife, his family and the wider community, has helped the NDIS participant create a microenterprise. Today, Phillip’s successful small business keeps him flat out with ongoing work cleaning buggies at Altone Golf Course, doing general house cleaning and gardening for residents within the community.
