Adam runs towards his goals!
Gosnells participant Adam Baker recently achieved one of his goals by completing the 2015 Park Run at Canning River, with the help of his Skills Trainer.
From the 205 entrants, Adam finished in 76th place and completed five kilometre run in 27.45 minutes, knocking four minutes off the average running time for this event.
To prepare for the event, Adam and Marcel (Skills Trainer) undertook a three-month training schedule as part of Adam's Lifeskills Plus program. By bushwalking, swimming and building up to running a five kilometre distance over three months, Adam was well prepared for the Park Run and completed it with ease.
Marcel acknowledged that Adam seemed to enjoy running because it helped him to burn off extra energy and relieve stress, and was a great way to feel part of the community. He also said that Adam would continue to train for longer running events as part of his program, and set more goals for his training.
